Howard "Guitar" Luedtke

One of the most versatile groups around, Howard "Guitar" Luedtke & Blue Max is a Western Wisconsin rock blues band that performs all over the Midwest region. Many who have seen Howard and Blue Max have become fans of Howard's talented slide guitar playing and the band's rockin' electric blues sound.

Howard Luedtke has been playing guitar since the arrival of the Beatles in 1964. After playing with several rock, country and blues bands, Howard formed the Blue Max band in 1982. Joining Howard since 1987 is his wife, Deb Klossner originally from New Ulm, Minnesota on bass, and several talented drummers from all over the region.

Internationally touring troubadour, Joel Karlsson lives on an island in Stockholm's archipelago. He is a classically trained guitarist and sings well-known Swedish troubadour and traditional songs, plus his own compositions. He is currently on a US tour and will be stopping in Wisconsin's own Stockholm for a concert.

Based in Minneapolis, Julie Johnson & The No-Accounts includes Julie Johnson on flute and bass flute, Doug Otto on vocals and guitar, and Drew Druckrey on guitar, resonator guitar, vocals, and mandolin. They each bring the influence of jazz, classical, and hymns to our versions of traditional songs. They began playing the Delta blues tunes and traditional Southern standards and have since added roots music. Artists like Leadbelly, Howlin Wolf, and Skip James, as well as roots music from our own region, the Upper Midwest, which has been largely untapped by contemporary roots bands.

Their set list includes originals as well as Leadbelly, Bob Dylan,polkas, waltzes, Metis jigs, and a pioneer hymn from The Laura Ingalls Wilder Songbook.
